HARMONY PROGRAM CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY
WITH BENEFIT CONCERT IN SUPPORT OF MUSIC
EDUCATION
THE EVENING WILL FEATURE
ONE-NIGHT-ONLY PERFORMANCES BY NOTABLE ARTISTS
GALA HOSTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH
WARNER MUSIC GROUP
On Wednesday,
April 25th at 6:30 PM, the
Harmony Program – a non-profit organization that
provides children from under-served communities
with free instruments, intensive music
instruction, orchestral training and access to a
variety of cultural experiences in an effort to
promote self-confidence, creativity, social
development and academic success – will host a
benefit concert and gala in celebration of their
10th anniversary.
The Harmony Program’s unique
model also addresses a shortage of well-trained
music teachers by preparing accomplished
musicians to teach at partnering public schools
and community centers throughout New York City
and on Long Island. Each year, the Harmony
Program provides over 150,000 hours of intensive
music instruction.
The gala will be a culmination of
the dedication of the Harmony Program’s
students, as they play alongside Grammy-award
winning violinist Joshua Bell, Grammy-award
nominated producer and cuatrista Jorge Glem, New
York Philharmonic principal clarinetist Anthony
McGill, string trio Time for Three, and soprano
Larisa Martínez.
One of the world’s leading music
companies, Warner Music Group is the lead
sponsor of the gala and has supported the work
of Harmony Program in the past, most recently
with its inaugural Warner Music Prize, which
seeks to foster the talents of promising young
musicians. Warner is committed to strengthening
the relationship between the two organizations.
