CEO of ADAPT Community Network, announced today that the
8th Annual ADAPT Family Connect Summit
will be held live via Zoom on Thursday, October 5th.
This year’s
ADAPT Virtual Family Connect Summit
will highlight important updates and resources available to
children and adults with disabilities. Experts from across
New York will be presenting on various topics that can
benefit the
intellectual or developmental disability
(IDD)
community.
“The ADAPT
Virtual Family Connect Summit is for families,
self-advocates, professionals, and anyone interested in the
latest information regarding intellectual and developmental
disability services and supports for children and adults,”
says Edward R. Matthews. “The summit offers a variety
of sessions presented by experts, industry leaders, and
public officials in various topic areas.”
The ADAPT
Virtual Family Connect Summit will open with a plenary
session (10:05AM -
10:55AM).
This year’s topic will be
“The Future of Healthcare
for People with Disabilities”.
Tracy Pickar,
Vice President of Family Services at ADAPT Community
Network, will moderate a discussion with: Edward R.
Matthews, CEO of ADAPT Community Network; Courtney E.
Burke, Senior Fellow in Healthcare Policy, Rockefeller
Institute and Consultant, Sachs Policy Group;
Shaniqua Freeman, Self-Advocate;
and Dr. Vincent Siasoco,
family medicine physician and Medical Director at ADAPT
Community Network.
The summit will also offer a
variety of sessions presented by experts in topic areas
including:
