ANNOUNCES SPEAKER
FOR 2023 “LOVE BEYOND HOOPS” LUNCHEON
The
Salvation Army of Greater Houston announced today
that they will host their
2023 Love
Beyond Hoops
Annual Luncheon, and it will be an afternoon to
remember! The luncheon will be held
on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 11:30a.m. at River
Oaks Country Club. Dorothy Nicholson will serve as
Luncheon Chair, Joe and Cathy Cleary will be the
Honorees, and Michael Redd will be the
Keynote Speaker. “We are so pleased that Michael
has agreed to serve as our keynote speaker for our
luncheon,” said Vicki West, Chairman of the Advisory
Board for The Salvation Army of Greater Houston.“Not
only has Michael achieved great success in business,
but, more importantly, he has been a staunch
supporter of countless charities across Houston,
especially The Salvation Army.”

From the hardwood to the boardroom, Michael Redd's
personal and professional story is that of a true
champion. A leader for the Ohio State Buckeyes on
their journey to the Final Four in 1999, an All-Star
in his 12-year career in the NBA, and a member of
the Olympic Gold Medal Team in 2008, Michael is a
successful and remarkable athlete. Since retiring
from the NBA in 2013, Michael has embarked on a
journey of building, developing, and investing in
tech-focused startups. He founded his own ‑rm 22
Ventures and hosts a podcast, Betting on Yourself,
exploring stories of successful entrepreneurs and
athletes taking risks to reach their goals. He
currently serves on The Salvation Army National
Advisory Board and has signed on to be a champion
leader for the Army's "Love Beyond Hoops" national
campaign.
This event not only allows the Houston community to
come together to hear stories of lives transformed,
but it will also raise funds to support The
Salvation Army of Greater Houston's life-changing
programs.
