NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR TO SPEAK AT
ANNUAL LUNCHEON
OF THE SALVATION ARMY OF PALM BEACH COUNTY
Dr. Stephen Mansfield will be the guest speaker at the
Annual Luncheon of The Salvation Army of Palm Beach County.
West Palm Beach, Florida
–
The Salvation Army of Palm Beach County is honored to
announce Dr. Stephen Mansfield as
the keynote speaker for their 2023 Annual Luncheon to be
held from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Pelican Club on
Tuesday, May 16, 2023. “The Tie That Binds” luncheon aims at
gathering local charities and nonprofits around the theme of
philanthropic partnerships.
The son of a US Army officer, Stephen Mansfield spent many
formative years living in Berlin during the dark days of the
Cold War. Returning to the US, he attended college, earning
a master’s degree in public policy, and a doctorate in
history and literature. His 2002 book, The Faith of
George W. Bush, landed on the New York Times bestseller
list twice, won numerous awards, and was a source for Oliver
Stone’s acclaimed movie W., a chronicle of President Bush’s
rise to the presidency. This groundbreaking book led to a
string of influential publications including a history of
the crucifixion of Jesus Christ which was called “masterful”
by Publisher’s Weekly. In May 2021, Stephen was named a
Senior Fellow of Public Leadership at Palm Beach Atlantic
University where he currently teaches and coaches current
and future leaders.
“We are honored that Dr. Mansfield has accepted the
invitation to be the featured speaker at our Annual
Luncheon,” said Majors James and Leisa Hall, Area Commanders
of The Salvation Army. “We wanted to select a speaker that
would inspire an afternoon gathering of local nonprofit
leaders to more effectively collaborate for the greater good
of our community. As a noted writer, popular speaker, and
man of deep faith, I cannot imagine a more appropriate
individual to address the valued topic of philanthropic
partnerships!”
