Earth Day Initiative is a 501(c)(3) organization
that promotes environmental awareness and solutions through partnerships
with schools, community organizations, businesses, and
governments. Since the first Earth Day in 1970, when 20
million people (10 percent of the population of the country
at the time) turned out, Earth Day has been a catalyst for
ongoing awareness and action. Earth Day Initiative’s mission
is to bring the spirit of the first Earth Day into the 21st
Century. |
