New York's Museum
of Arts and Design invites
you to visit MAD
About Jewelry,
their annual exhibition and sale of artisan-made
contemporary jewelry and accessories.
The 25th Edition of MAD
About Jewelry features
designs by 50 artists from 23 countries. Visitors have the
chance to meet the artists and buy from them directly; some of
the designers have never shown in NY or America so this is
an exciting rare opportunity!
Curator Bryna Pomp hand-selected each artist,
including;
- Valeria Molinari (Italy) reimagines backgammon game
pieces as wearable art, crafting resin and Murano glass
jewelry inspired by the board game
- Joana Correia (Portugal) works with organic
materials in her Silk Cocoon and Orange Peel collections,
embracing imperfection and nature’s resilience
- Xinyi Chen (England)
transforms electronic waste into intricate jewelry she
calls Artificial Intelligems, merging digital
materials with traditional metalsmithing.
- Cano Jewelry (Colombia), a family-run brand with
over a century of history, preserves pre-Colombian
goldsmithing traditions through contemporary lost-wax
creations
MAD About Jewelry runs
May 4 -
7, from 10am - 6pm,
at MAD (2 Columbus Circle).
