Marcella Cancro, 91 of Bronxville, NY, died on July 31, 2016. Beloved wife of the late, Ralph Cancro, PhD, Loving mother of Lawrence and (Luise) Cancro, Barbara Cancro Carr, Susan Cancro Brown, and Lorraine and (Robert) Silvetz, MD, Dear brother of Robert Cancro, MD. Cherished grandmother of Laura Marie Cancro, Lisa Cancro, Andrew Carr, Cristina Carr, and Emma Brown

Marcella Cancro was a loving mother but also a highly educated woman having earned her undergraduate degree at Hunter College and Masters in Italian from Teacher's College at Columbia University, NY and a Masters in Spanish from Iona College, NY. She taught Italian and Spanish for over 25 years at the Irvington High School, NY as well as teaching at NYC high schools prior to starting a family. 

Visitation will be held at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC, Eastchester on Tuesday August 2, 2016, from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe, Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 10:30 AM followed by entombment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Marcella Cancro’s name to Melmark New England, 461 River Road, Andover, MA, 01810 or www.melmarkne.org.
