Children’s Oncology Support Fund (COSF)

Founded by film producer and philanthropist

 Thomas Pierce

 hosted

 the inaugural Zodiac Ball

at the Houdini Estate in Los Angeles.

The celestial surrealism-themed evening, generously supported by Presenting Sponsor Balmain, featured cocktails, live entertainment and music by DJ Ruckus, Mia Moretti, and Marsha Molinari.

Cancer survivor, entrepreneur and fitness educator Brooke Burke
hosted the event alongside vice chairs for the evening,
businessman and philanthropist Barron N. Hilton
and model and philanthropist Tessa Hilton.

Additional attendees included Kate BeckinsaleTara ReidSam AsghariWilliam AbadieMohamed HadidJason Oppenheim
Carly Chaikin
and Harley Quinn Smith, among others.

Proceeds from the evening will support Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Music Therapy, Artist in Residence programs, and Child Life support services to kids facing cancer and other illness or injury.

Event Highlights:

  • On-stage at the event, COSF founder Thomas Pierce said, “During the pandemic, live events were paused, foundations struggled, grants were hard to come by. I knew now was the time to step up and call in the troops and thus, COSF was born. In January we launched with Aspen Snow Ball, and I’m privileged to bring you all here tonight.”

  • Event host Brooke Burke shared, “I’m very honored Thomas [Pierce] asked me to be here tonight and support COSF and the amazing work they do. I am a mom of four with two step children, and I can't imagine if I heard the words, “your child has cancer.” So when I was asked to support COSF I couldn't resist. It’s causes like these that sustain critical donor dependent programs that can’t get funding from government grants. Tonight we are raising money for children battling cancer. It’s that simple.”

  • On-stage after announcing she was expecting her third child with husband Barron N. HiltonTessa Hilton  shared, “It brings me to tears to think of a family that has to hear the news their baby has to go through this therapy.” While walking the red carpet earlier in the evening, she explained, “It’s so important to support COSF because they’re really finding alternative therapies – ways to keep providing some sort of normalcy to these children who are undergoing pediatric cancer [treatment].”

  • While walking the red carpet Sam Asghari shared, “When it comes to children, it breaks my heart if I see that they’re battling something, especially if they have to go through this alone. Most of the families, it shatters their hearts.”

COSF created a celestial dreamland taking over the Houdini Estate. Guests were treated to a Balmain Opera experience, an immersive HOXXOH champagne pond, a Desolas Mezcal Monkey Bar, and a galactic garden with magic cocktails by Kuleana Rum. Hendrick’s, Grey Goose AMASS and UME Plum Liqueur were among the liquor sponsors. Paul Fenner Floral Design donated all the floral and decor creating what looked like a million dollar event. Mohamed Hadid donated HADID Caviar, along with culinary sponsors BOA Steakhouse, Katana Robata, Sushi Roku, and Hideaway Beverly Hills.

About Children's Oncology Support Fund (COSF)

Children’s Oncology Support Fund’s mission is to fund the development, research, and programs of less toxic therapies for pediatric cancer patients across the nation. COSF supplies grant funding, and pledge funding to donor dependent patient programs in need. COSF works directly with hospitals and established non-profits to build partnerships with its core values in mind; Transparency, community, and relevancy.

About Balmain

More than 75 years ago, when Pierre Balmain first introduced his “New French Style,” it immediately became clear to all that his eponymous house was offering a distinctly fresh, bold, and feminine conception of haute couture, one which broke with many of the well-established conventions of the era. His audaciousness paid off. Pierre Balmain became one of the handful of young French talents who ushered in the mid-century golden age of couture and helped to re-establish Paris as the world’s fashion capital.

Since 2011, Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing has been inventively building upon Pierre Balmain’s extraordinary legacy, while always remaining true to his own determination to design clothes that reflect the way his inclusive, powerful, and global Balmain Army wishes to live today. The result is a unique and instantly recognizable Balmain silhouette, style and attitude that highlights the singular craftsmanship of the house’s celebrated ateliers, while consistently referencing a rich Parisian heritage.

About Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has fought to help make sure all children have access to the specialized care they need since 1915. Our not-for-profit system not only delivers exceptional care, but we have also advanced the field of pediatrics through groundbreaking research and clinical trials. Our lifesaving medical programs have helped treat kids with complex childhood illnesses from all around the world. Consistently ranked among the top children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, we provide access to 2,300 pediatric physicians and allied health practitioners across more than 60 pediatric programs, managing over one million patient visits every year.

Amongst our top programs at Children’s is the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. Our center remains a national leader in pediatric cancer and blood disorders treatment and research and is one of the largest pediatric cancer programs in the country. We compassionately treat each child’s unique needs and develop a special treatment plan for the whole child and family—starting from day one.

As a part of our commitment to providing the best care possible to each and every patient, we are proud to offer a variety of family support services, including Music Therapy, our Artist in Residence program, and Child Life programming. Each of these services would not be possible without the generous support of our community of donors like COSF, who join us in our mission to make kids better today and healthier tomorrow.
