Event Exceeded All Expectations,
Thousands in Attendance, Sales Made at
New York Observer’s Real Estate Showcase
at Soho’s Puck Building
A crowd of approximately 2,256
prospective homebuyers, real estate
brokers, and developers attended the
highly anticipated New York Condos
Showcase in Soho’s historic Puck
Building, hosted by the New York
Observer. The event was so
successful and well received that The
Observer has announced that they will
host a second New York Condos
Showcase this fall (’08).
“The
New York Condos Showcase exceeded
all of our expectations,” said Observer
Media Group publisher Jared Kushner.
“From the start of the day, it was a
huge success, with lines around the
block before we even opened the Puck
Building’s doors. There was a constant
– and heavy – flow of visitors
throughout the day and the response from
developers, brokers and consumers was
uniformly positive. This event was
the place to be and we look forward
to the next one in the fall.”
.
For new and even seasoned apartment
buyers, the New York real estate market
can be intimidating and difficult to
navigate and The New York Condos
Showcase took the legwork out of the
buying equation. Visitors explored some
of the NYC’s newest properties while

“We thought the Observer Showcase was
great,” remarked Joe Ferrara, a partner
at BFC Partners, the developer of Toren,
a new 240-unit, 38-story condominium in
Downtown Brooklyn. “The turnout was
great and we’ve had lots of inquiries
and several sales. We would definitely
participate in
this event again.”
The New York Condos Showcase was
organized to reflect the geographical
layout of the featured properties.
Attendees could explore developments –
walking from ‘Lower Manhattan’ to the
‘Upper East Side’ and ‘across the
Brooklyn Bridge’ – all without ever
having to leave the building. Attendees
also received a ‘City’ map and the event
space featured street signs to help
individuals navigate from neighborhood
to neighborhood.
"The showcase was a wonderful
opportunity to interact with buyers as
well as agents," said David Kest, Sales
Director of 45 John Street, an 84-unit
condominium conversion in the Financial
District. "The lively atmosphere and
large crowd made this a most successful
sales event. It also makes a major
statement about the vitality and pent-up
interest within the industry. I
certainly look forward to welcoming some
of the attendees to our on-site
Presentation Center."
The Showcase was supported by the
Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY),
Chase Bank, Gracious Home, Pravda, and
Ligne Roset. All proceeds went in
support of the Coalition for the
Homeless. Reba Miller, President of RP
Miller & Associates, served as the
industry consultant at the event.
The New York Condos Showcase
exhibitor package included booth space
and advertising in a specially produced
magazine for the event. In addition to
participant advertising, the magazine
featured editorial content on real
estate trends, home design and consumer
focused real estate issues.
