Boca
Raton, FL — More than 100 attendees donned their party
hats to attend the annual Mad Hatters Luncheon hosted by The
Gold Coast Red Cross Angels held at the Boca Country Club on
March 11. The Luncheon, themed ‘Hats Off to the Red Cross’,
featured a Fashion Show from several local boutiques,
coordinated by Su Su Smith, a Hat Contest judged by local
celebrities, a Silent Auction and a Chinese Raffle.
“The
luncheon was a fantastic success this year and our hat
contest participants succeeded in once again, raising the
bar for whimsical style, flair and originality,” said Angels
President, Bonnie Mason.
“We are delighted with the interest of the community and
participation which would not have been possible without our
devoted volunteers and committee.”
Winners of
the Hat Contest were judged on creativity, ingenuity and
aesthetic appeal and included. The winners were Antonio
Pesce, Paul Zulkoski, Christine Gusasky, Teddy Caplen, Carol
Horowitz, Sunie Jones-Farmer, Jan Moore, and Gaye Sullivan
This
year’s dedicated committee included
Loretta Baldwin, Veronica
Comrie, Beverly & Bernard Falb, Ruth Feigl, Meg Greenfield,
Christine Gudasky, Rita Hobbs, Barbara Hostomsky, Patricia
Hyde, Judy Kloth, Betty Maguire, Barbara McCormick, Carol
Orze, Julie Ott, Charlotte Robinson, Joanne Stahl, and
Stacey Solimeno.
The
South County Red Cross Angels, founded in 1987,
is one of the fundraising arms of the American Red Cross,
Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter. The Angels promote and fund
Red Cross services including disaster awareness, prevention,
and relief through many educational, volunteer, and social
outreach programs.
All
proceeds from the event will benefit the Greater Palm Beach
Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and the South County
