April 29, 2009 – Lois Wright was beaming last night at
the preview of her "Grey Gardens" artwork. The
event was held at the National Arts Club in New York
City and was sponsored by Rebecca Cooper, The Gallery
Sag Harbor.
More than 100 New Yorkers showed up (some donning "Grey
Gardens" attire) to admire, support and receive copies
of Lois' book
"My Life At Grey Gardens" 13 Months and Beyond A
True and Factual Book.
Lois Wright, writer, artist, 22 year local TV host and
close friend for decades of the Bouvier Beales lived at
"Grey Gardens"
for several years in the mid seventies and was there
while the Maysles Brothers filmed their documentary over
six weeks.
She is in the film's birthday party scene. Lois was also
there in the late 70's with Little Edie" and "Big Edie"
died.
Lois states:" 'Big Edie' and 'Little Edie' have been
protectively watching over everything from the loving
restoration of the
Grey Gardens estate, my memoir 'My Life at Grey
Gardens' , the Grey Gardens' off Broadway musical , its
moving
to Broadway, October 2006, and the new screenplay and film,
written and directed by Michael Sucsy, starring Jessica
Lange
and Drew Barrymore which premiered in Los Angeles last week"
