Last night at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square,
American Express presented Alicia Keys live on
YouTube for December 1st 2009, World AIDS Day.
Keys’ performed songs from her upcoming album
‘The Element of Freedom’ and recognized World
AIDS Day with her charity, Keep a Child Alive (KCA),
as proceeds from the show benefited KCA.
YouTube also streamed concert LIVE at www.youtube.com/aliciakeyssme
and Jay Z
also appeared
as a surprise unannounced guest to perform their
hit single, 'Empire State of Mind.'
Keys’ also made a major announcement about
Keep a Child Alive’s ‘Text ALIVE for 5’
contest, in which she'll take 5 people to South Africa with her to inspire them
to change the world. To enter this contest,
fans can text ‘ALIVE’ to 90999 to give $5 to
Keep a Child Alive. When you reply “YES” to
ensure your $5 donation will go to help
those whose lives have been ravaged by
HIV/AIDS, a link to the contest page will
appear.
