West Palm Beach, FL –
Alzheimer’s Community Care is pleased to announce that
the 2010 Leo and Anne Albert Memorial Award will be
given to noted philanthropists Rhoda and David Chase.
The prestigious award was established last year in
memory of beloved philanthropist Leo Albert. Mr. and
Mrs. Albert generously supported numerous charities and
organizations including Alzheimer’s Community Care.
The award, presented
annually at Alzheimer’s Community Care’s Palm Beach gala
in January, is bestowed to an individual(s) who has
demonstrated generosity of spirit and kindness of heart
to those in need. The recipient will be an individual
who serves as a role model for outstanding charitable
responsibility. The award values the importance of
contributing now as well as leaving a legacy of
philanthropic leadership.
The Chase Family is
widely recognized for philanthropy and dedication to
local, national and international causes and endeavors
and is most deserving of this honor.
Coming to this country
from Poland after the Holocaust, David Chase established
Chase Enterprises, a diverse holding company with a
history of investments in real estate, banking,
insurance, engineering, telecommunications and
hospitality. With the support of his wife Rhoda, David
began his contributions to the world community.
David’s humanitarian
honors and endeavors include being one of twelve
worldwide recipients of the Gold Medal from the State of
Israel as well as helping to establish relations
between the Vatican and Israel. Rhoda is the recipient
of an Honorary Doctorate of Law Degree from Eastern
Connecticut State University and an Honorary Doctorate
of Humane Letters from the University of Connecticut.
The
Chase Family has provided major contributions to arts
and educational institutions, Jewish institutions,
interfaith organizations, and in the healthcare field,
the Chase Family has contributed greatly to
many international, national
and local Palm Beach charities including Alzheimer's
Community Care.
“Rhoda and David Chase
embody all that is respected and admired in charitable
giving and we are very appreciative of their long-time
friendship and support of Alzheimer’s Community Care.
Their value of our mission and on-going encouragement
has been instrumental in helping us to promote the
dignity and quality of life of our patients as well as
ensuring our patients’ safety, health and well-being
within a community-based environment,” said Mary M.
Barnes, President and CEO of Alzheimer’s Community Care.
The Leo and Anne Albert
Memorial Award will be presented on January 15, 2010, at
“Hot Latin Rhythms” to be held at Mar-a-Lago.
