On March 4, New York Society joined headliners from the worlds of fashion, design and media to celebrate Literacy Partners 25th annual Evening of Readings kick-off event at Michael’s Restaurant.  Hosted by Liz Smith, Arnold Scaasi and Parker Ladd, other important guests included author-historian Barbara Goldsmith and bestselling author Christopher Buckley.  Also in attendance were this year's Gala honorees Mitchell Davidson and Nina Rennert Davidson, as well as renowned journalists Leslie Stahl and Paula Zahn.  Literacy Partners 25th annual Evening of Readings Gala will take place at Lincoln Center on May 11, 2009. 

For 35 years, Literacy Partners has helped thousands of New Yorkers learn the basic reading, writing and math skills needed to succeed in day-to-day living. Through successful collaborations with major corporations, community partners and benefactors, Literacy Partners offers small, welcoming classes taught by enthusiastic, highly trained volunteer tutors. Literacy Partners is the only nationally accredited adult literacy program serving
