at the American Museum of Natural History's Museum Dance
the evening of March 26, 2009.

Chevy Provides Green Vehicles for
Transport to Museum Dance |
New York –
Special guests attending the American Museum
of Natural History’s Museum Dance
arrived in style – in green style --
in Chevrolet fuel efficient products.
Several participants were driven to the
event in Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell
vehicles, and other event-goers were
transported in Tahoe hybrids.
Chevrolet Vice
President and General Manager Ed Peper says
VIPs who utilize the vehicles are in for a
treat.
“We are happy to
support the Museum Dance with what we do
best – providing great transportation,”
Peper says. “Making hydrogen fuel cells and
Tahoe Hybrids available to guests is an
effective way to bring attention to our
terrific fuel saving products, and to show
people that these vehicles are fun to
drive.”
One of New York
City’s most popular annual events, this
year’s Dance is “going green.” With its
“Gas-friendly to Gas Free” lineup, Chevy was
able to select from a variety of fuel
efficient products to participate. Katie
Lee Joel arrived in a fuel cell electric
vehicle.
The fuel cells
Equinox vehicles are powered by hydrogen and
leave a carbon footprint of zero. The
vehicles are part of Chevy’s Project
Driveway program, which puts Equinox
electric vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel
cells into the hands of drivers to gain real
world experience and learning. More than
3,500 individuals have driven the fuel cell
Equinox; either in short drives at media
programs or special events, or as part of
longer loan. In the past year, about 25,000
gallons of gasoline has been saved by using
these vehicles.
Tahoe hybrids
offer the same fuel economy as four-cylinder
Toyota Camrys. Chevy produces two other
hybrid models – the Malibu as well as the
Silverado – the world’s first full-size
two-mode pick-up truck.
