Grunwald Award Luncheon at the Metropolitan
Club in New York City on October 13th.
The award, named after former Editor of
Time Magazine, the late Henry A. Grunwald,
is given to an individual who advances
awareness about vision impairment. The
sold-out event, whose honorary co-chair is
Louise Grunwald, was highly successful and
helped raise funds for Lighthouse
International’s mission to fight vision
loss.

Sir Howard Stringer, Chairman, President and
CEO, SONY Corporation received Lighthouse
International’s Henry A. Grunwald Award for
Public Service which recognizes individuals
committed to advancing public awareness of
prevention and treatment of vision loss. Liz
Smith, syndicated columnist, was Master of
Ceremonies at the luncheon which is named in
honor of the late Henry A. Grunwald, the
long-time Managing Editor of Time Magazine.
Honorary Chair was Louise Grunwald.
American film director and
producer Nora Ephron and writer Nick Pileggi
were co-chairs.
Among the guests were Rupert Murdoch, News
Corporation CEO, Charles Cohen, CEO of Cohen
Brothers Realty, Public Relations and
Marketing Director of Jimmy Choo shoes,
American Journalist Connie Chung, TV talk
show host Maury Povich and 60 Minutes Anchor
Lesley Stahl.
The event took place at
The Metropolitan Club,
1 East 60th Street,
New York City.
