- The Gold Coast PR Council, the largest independent
group of public relations and marketing professionals in
South Florida, today announced the winners of the
nonprofit organization’s sixth annual Bernays Awards.
Named after Edward J. Bernays, the recognized founder of
the modern public relations industry, GCPRC’s annual
Bernays Awards recognize and honor excellence by local
PR and marketing professionals.
Most of the winners were selected by an independent
panel of five distinguished PR veterans: Andrea Knibbs
of Smith & Knibbs PR, Jason Hughes of Lynn University,
Jay Van Vechten of Van Vechten Associates, Margie
Yansura of Wordsmith Communications, and independent
contractor Jackie Kaplan.
GCPRC’s Board of Directors selected the winners in three
categories: PR Star Award, Founders Award and the
Presidents Award.
The 2010 Bernays Awards were given out at GCPRC’s gala
luncheon on January 29. This year’s winners were:

The next monthly lunch meeting of the Gold Coast PR

Editor and Vice President of Audience Development
for The Palm Beach Post.
The cost to attend is $25
