Palm Beach, FL –
Brilliant colors, sparkling metallics and shimmering
lights shaped the breathtaking décor and set the
stage for the 2010 Palm Beach Gala, “Hot Latin
Rhythms,” benefiting Alzheimer’s Community Care.
Highly regarded as one of the best events of the
season, a sold-out crowd was on hand to enjoy the
festivities at Mar-a-Lago.
The evening began with a
cocktail reception poolside and silent auction in
the white and gold ballroom. Guests enjoyed meeting
and greeting Mr. Donald Trump who was in attendance.
Everyone then proceeded to the Grand Ballroom, which
was spectacularly adorned by Bruce Sutka with floor
to ceiling sheer, back-lit drapes and huge, unique
colorful centerpieces. The Steven Chase Orchestra, a
spirited Latin Dance Troupe and mambo and cha-cha
ballroom dance exhibitions by Warren and Babette
Brown provided lots of high-energy entertainment.
Tim, “the Byrdman” Byrd,
the evening’s Master of Ceremonies, introduced Larry
Butcher, Chairman of the Board of Directors of
Alzheimer’s Community Care and Mary Barnes, the
organization’s President and CEO who warmly thanked
the evening’s dedicated chairs Geri and Frank
Morrow, and reminded everyone of the importance of
the mission of Alzheimer’s Community Care.
Special highlights of
the evening included the introduction of gala
honorary chair Hermé de Wyman Miro and presentation
of the prestigious Leo and Anne Albert Memorial
