EASTHAMPTON, NY (July 23, 2010)—The
New York Stem Cell Foundation
(NYSCF) celebrated its
fifth anniversary at a private cocktail
reception at the home of
Jodie and John Eastman
On hand to
celebrate the occasion were Alec Baldwin,
Lorne Michaels;
Jo Carole Lauder; Alan Patricof; Julian
Robertson Jr.; Dorothy Lichtenstein; Carl
Spielvogel and
Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spievogel; Alice Shure;
Bette-Ann Gwathmey; Robert A.M. Stern; Katama
Eastman; John and Amy Griffin; Lee Eastman;
Vanessa Eastman; Dick Oldenburg
and many of NYSCF’s
scientists and post-doctoral fellows.
Kevin C. Eggan, PhD,
NYSCFs Chief Scientific Officer,
NYSCF-Druckenmiller Fellow Darja Marolt, PhD,
and Susan L. Solomon, NYSCF’s Chief
Executive Officer, also gave guests a brief
update on the latest developments in stem cell
research.
“We’re delighted to mark this
milestone among our most generous supporters,”
said Ms. Solomon. “Our scientists and
researchers have made enormous strides over the
past five years, and we expect to announce
significant findings in the future as we
explore the potential of stem
cells to advance the understanding and treatment
of human disease.”
