NEW
YORK
(July 1, 2010) --
FLIR Systems, Inc.,
(NASDAQ: FLIR) the world leader in thermal
imaging, will honor our Nation’s birthday and
our military personnel by teaming up with San
Francisco Giants pitcher Barry Zito’s
“Strikeouts
For Troops®”
organization to donate $500 for every strikeout
thrown in every major league baseball game
played on July 4th.
FLIR Systems, Inc will present the check to
Strikeouts
For
Troops on Friday, July 9 when they host Wounded
Warriors and their families at the Washington
Nationals vs. San Francisco Giants game at
Nationals Park in Washington DC. Strikeouts For
Troops will direct the money to the Fisher House
Foundation to assist our wounded U.S troops and
their families while they undergo treatment for
injuries sustained during their service to our
country, by transporting the families to the
soldiers bedside, along with housing and feeding
the families during their entire stay.
Fisher House Foundation
builds comfort homes around the country to house
the families of wounded warriors while they
undergo treatment and rehabilitation at Veterans
Affairs Hospitals and Medical Centers.

“We are both excited and proud at the
opportunity to have FLIR Systems salute our
military personnel in such a tangible way,” said
Earl R. Lewis, President and CEO of FLIR
Systems. “While we provide today’s military
personnel with lifesaving technologies in Iraq
and Afghanistan, it is incredibly gratifying to
also be able to help support the troops once
they return home.”
"My family and I started Strikeouts For Troops
to help our wounded service members with
'comforts of home' and to help lift their
spirits and morale while they recover in
military hospitals, oftentimes far away from
their loved ones," said Barry Zito. “I am
honored by the effort of FLIR Systems to join
with us to support our nation's birthday by
making such a significant difference in the
lives of so many injured troops and their
families in need. I am equally grateful to my
fellow professional baseball players who
similarly recognize the importance of helping
our brave troops who represent our country with
honor while fighting for our freedom."
“Fisher House Foundation is thankful to our
baseball heroes for their support of our
military heroes,” said Ken Fisher,
Chairman of Fisher House Foundation. “Whether
you are for the war or against it, support of
our military personnel is non-negotiable. We
thank FLIR Systems and Strikeouts For Troops for
honoring our military and their families in this
way.”
