Muse Awards Proceeds Help Students Experience Art and Culture

Thanks
to patrons
of the Palm
Beach County
Cultural
Council’s
Muse Awards,
over 130
school
children
from
underserved
communities
were able to
experience a
cultural
field trip.
Proceeds
from the
Muse Awards
go to the
Council’s
education
programs. A
portion of
these funds
paid for
travel to
Resource
Depot for
two classes
at Plumosa
Elementary
School and
travel to
the Flagler
Museum for
two classes
at Palmetto
Elementary
School.
“The Muse
Awards’
guests and
sponsors
enabled
these young
students to
experience
the
interactive
creative
programs at
Resource
Depot and
learn about
the Flagler
Museum’s
wonderful
history,”
says Alyx
Kellington,
Director of
Arts and
Cultural
Education at
the Cultural
Council.
“These field
trip
experiences
will stay
with the
students for
a very long
time.”
The 2010
Muse Awards
honored many
outstanding
contributors
to Palm
Beach County
Culture.
Award
finalists
were a
diverse
group of
artists,
educators,
leaders and
philanthropists
from across
the county.
Over 350
cultural
enthusiasts
attended the
high-energy
awards gala.
Irene Karp

Sharf were
co-chairs of
the event,
which
showcased
talented
youth in the
county. The
