UN Women for
Peace, a
promotional
initiative
program of
the
United
Nations
Delegations
Women’s
Club, has
held a
charity
luncheon at
Le Cirque
Restaurant
on Monday
May 17th,
2010 under
the
patronage of
Mrs. Ban
Soon-taek,
spouse of
the UN
Secretary-General,
guest of
Honor.
The
successful
luncheon was
attended by
over 100
guests,
including
ladies from
the
diplomatic
community in
New York,
famous
writer
Margaret
Ahmert,
humanitarian
activist and
writer Dr.
Kevin
Cahill,
fashion
designer
Reen Acra.
Also present
were ladies
from New
York’s elite
society such
as Georgette
Moshbakher,
Jeannette
Longoria,
Nessrin
Zahedi,
Pamela
Jacovides,
Tania Obeid,
Podi
contantiner,
Susan Tisch
and Jana
Pasquel.
The guest
speaker was
Dr. Bill
Andrews,
President &
CEO of
Sierra
Sciences,
who made a
presentation
entitled
“Enjoying
the good
life at the
age of 125”.
A hand made
jewelry
necklace
designed by
Jenna Jaffe
was
auctioned
for the
benefit of
the event.
UN Women
for Peace
is devoted
to promote
and raised
funds
towards
educating
women from
all over the
world and
specially
from
countries
with
conflict to
encourage an
effective
communities.
They hosted
their first
annual event
in March
2008 at the
United
Nations
General
Assembly
Hall.
