The Broadway League and the
Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds
(COBUG) presented the second-annual
Broadway Salutes, a
unique public celebration honoring professionals
who have worked 25 or more years in their
respective theatrical craft on Broadway.
The outdoor ceremony took place in Father Duffy
Square (Broadway at 46th Street), located in the
heart of the Broadway Theatre district hosted by
Chita Rivera and Andre DeShields. Welcoming the
crowd in Times Square and introducing the
performers were the Honorable Christine Quinn,
Bob Wankel, Paul Libin, Tovah Feldshuh and Tony
DePaula. Montego Glover, Matt Bogart, Tituss
Burgess and Chris Jackson sang while the names
of the 2010 inductees scrolled on the giant
spectacolor screen. This year three “2010
Stories” were acknowledged with special
presentations to Leonard Soloway, Fran Babaretti
and Nancy Schaefer.
