The "Urban Futures: VIP Sharing Benefit Luncheon" took place
on June 23, 2011 at the United Nations. The event included
the presentation of the "ICCC Caring Citizen of the World"
Award to
Dr. Joseph Beasley, Chairman of the Joe Beasley Foundation,
a citizen Diplomat, for his years of dedication, creative
solutions to social and economic issues and philanthropic
initiatives. There was also a Musical Moment provided
by Dr. Yeou-Cheng Ma and Ms.Hinano Ishii, the 2011 Discovery
Artist winner of The Children's Orchestra Society, and
active community leader in fundraising for the victims of
the earthquake in Japan.
The Luncheon Program also included working tables addressing
urban futures, health , music and ICT and guests expertise
were most welcome ..
Questions for Discussion Were:
1 –How can digital health accelerate the achievement of the
MDGs and promote “technology for equity?”
2 – How to “up-scale” the practical implementation of
Music for Healing , Peace and the MDGs?
3 – How can ICT enhance the full MDG agenda?
4 –What are sustainable urban futures in practice?
