New York, NY, December 13, 2012
— The
Mount Sinai Medical Center hosted the Second Annual Women’s
Health Fashion Show and Luncheon on December 11th
at The Waldorf=Astoria. More than 500 guests attended the
luncheon to benefit Mount Sinai’s Women’s Health
Initiatives, which focus on the promotion of health, safety
and quality of life across the entire spectrum of a woman’s
life.
Chaired by Adrianne Silver, Alison K. Axelrod
and Dina Leader, the event featured a runway
presentation of Pamella Roland’s spring 2013
collection. Chopard provided jewelry for the models
and celebrity chef Mario Batali selected the
luncheon’s menu. Lead sponsors of the event were
Alison and Norman Axelrod
and GNC LiveWell. Among the attendees were
Miss Universe Dayana
Mendoza, Crissy and Nigel Barker, Natalie Morales,
Ingeborg Hanna Rennert,
Karen LeFrak and
Linda
Macklowe.
Expanding on the inaugural luncheon which raised important
funds for Women’s Cardiology and Obstetrics and Gynecology,
the inclusion of the Department of Medicine at this year’s
event broadened the Women’s Health Program at Mount Sinai.
Proceeds from the luncheon exclusively benefit women’s
health initiatives, including raising awareness of the
importance of primary care for early prevention and
detection of medical issues, research on the detection and
treatment of reproductive cancers, research on gender
differences related to the environment and seminars to
educate women on how to monitor their heart health.
