2012 - Barry Manilow, Scott Minerd and Stanley Black
were honored Thursday night
by the Cedars-Sinai Board
of
Governors for their boundless philanthropic efforts at
the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel.
Proceeds
from the Gala benefit the Board
of Governors Heart Stem Cell Center at the Cedars-Sinai
Heart Institute. The much
anticipated
event of the Fall Season featured a special performance
by six-time Grammy Award winner Toni Braxton and star of
NBC’s hit show ‘The Voice,’ Chris Mann.
For the eighth consecutive year, Lexus joined forces
with the Board of Governors as title sponsor, and
donated a 2013 Lexus LS 460 F SPORT luxury sedan to be
raffled off at
the Gala.
Stanley Black, Founder of Black Equities received
the Philanthropic Leadership Award. Scott Minerd,
Chief Investment Officer of presenting
sponsor, Guggenheim Partners, was honored with the
Humanitarian Award. Singer-Songwriter, Barry Manilow,
received the Heart of Hollywood Award. Mr. Manilow
recently launched a campaign to raise awareness for
a heart condition called a trial fibrillation from
which he suffers.
