Los Angeles, CA – May 8, 2014) The Associates For Breast
and Prostate Cancer Studies, affectionately known as the
ABCs, hosted its annual Mother’s Day Luncheon at the Four
Seasons Hotel at Beverly Hills, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 to
benefit breast and prostate cancer research at John Wayne
Cancer Institute (JWCI) at Providence Saint John’s Health
Center. Paul Dreher, Assistant Director of Catering,
Beverly Hilton hotel, was surprised with a special
recognition, “A
True Gentle-Man of The Year Award” presented
by ABCs President Gloria Gebbia for his long-time support of
the organization.
Beverly Cohen and Sheri Rosenblum co-chaired the event which
featured an informal fashion show by celebrated Los Angeles
designer Mark Zunino. Actress, comedienne and radio
personality Lisa Ann Walter emceed. Special guests included
Carlton Gebbia and Brandi Glanville of “The
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”and actress Nicky
Whelan. Prior to the luncheon there was a luxury boutique
featuring a fashionable array of select vendors donating a
portion of proceeds from their sales to the organization.
“I feel especially honored to acknowledge the incredible
progress being made at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in
the search for a cure for breast and prostate cancer,” said
Gloria Gebbia, President of the Associates for Breast and
Prostate Cancer Studies. “Each of us is a part of this great
community that unites in a common goal to improve the lives
of people with cancer.”

said Patrick Wayne, Chairman of the Board at JWCI and son of
the legendary actor John Wayne. “It is their commitment

The ABCs was formed 24 years ago by a group of dedicated
philanthropists who had originally been associated with the
Eddie Cantor Charitable Foundation, an organization that
supported a variety of causes. These individuals wanted to
devote all their charitable efforts and resources to
eradicating cancer and unanimously chose to support
progressive and innovative breast cancer and prostate cancer
research at the John Wayne Cancer Institute (JWCI). Today,
the Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies are
over 150 members strong and growing. They dedicate their
efforts to funding research in breast and prostate cancer at
