Author and
journalist Gregory Speck celebrated his latest birthday
on May 2nd at his splendid home in Manhattan's elegant
Beresford apartment house on Central Park West with 100
guests and 200 animals, all of them taxidermy mounts
which he collected years ago to create a private natural
history museum. First-time visitors to the socialite
and cultural historian's "Animal House" often say they
did not know he was a hunter, which he is not, or ask
him when he shot them, but he did not kill a single one
of them.

going on safari through the various rooms during his
soiree were Baroness Gabriele von Langendorff, Prince
