the
non‐profit
organization
that
has
transformed
the
lives
of
millions
of
public
school
children
through
the
arts,
is hosting
a
series
of
events
celebrating
the
80th birthday
of
its
founder
and
legendary New
York
City
Ballet
principal
dancer
Jacques
d’Amboise.
The
centerpiece
of
this
year‐long
celebration, JD’EIGHTY,
a
star‐studded
event took place
on
Monday,
November
17th
to pay tribute
to
the
life
of
this remarkable
man
through
performances and
presentations by
special guest
artists.
Participants
included
Michael
Cerveris,
Barbara
Cook,
Chita
Rivera,
Judy
Kuhn,
Tony
Yazbeck,
Charlotte
d'Amboise,
Terrence
Mann,
Sterling
Hyltin and
Daniel
Ulbricht.
Tina
Landau
directed the
one‐ night‐only
program that
raised
$460,000. At Jacques’s
request,
all
proceeds
of
the
celebration
went
to
support
his
beloved
National
Dance
Institute.
