REAL ESTATE & CONSTRUCTION
LUNCHEON
On October
20, 2014, the Police Athletic League hosted its Ninth Annual
Real Estate & Construction Luncheon, honoring David
A. MacDonald, Executive
Vice President, Lend Lease (US) Construction Inc., and Matthew
Van Buren, President, New York Tri-State Region CBRE,
Inc. Held at The Pierre in Manhattan, the event welcomed
300 guests and raised $375,000 for the nonprofit. The
luncheon celebrated PAL’s Centennial and the real estate
industry’s commitment to our City’s children.

Honoree
David MacDonald is
the Executive Vice President for Lend Lease (US)
Construction Inc. He has the responsibility for developing
business within the Lend Lease Project Management and
Construction Strategic Business Unit. Mr. MacDonald brings
over 26 years of national retail development experience and
was one of the founders of the Lend Lease Multi-Site Group,
which focuses on program management utilizing the base of
project managers across the United States. Currently Mr.
MacDonald is leading the business development efforts to
expand Lend Lease’s national hospitality platform focused on
new construction and major renovations. He is also
consulting with the Department of Energy on the America
Saves Program, which will be bringing a national energy
efficiency program to Main Street America.
Honoree
Matthew Van Buren is
President of CBRE’s New York Tri-State Region, overseeing
all lines of business operating within CBRE’s largest region
by revenue in the United States. Mr. Van Buren is a member
of CBRE’s Americas Executive Committee, Americas Operations
Management Board and Eastern Division Executive Committee.
He is an active member of the Commercial Brokerage Board of
Directors of the Real Estate Board of New York, serves on
the Executive Committee of the New York Section of the Urban
Land Institute, the Executive Association for a Better New
York and the Executive Advisory Board of Baruch College’s
Zicklin School of Business. Mr. Van Buren is also a member
of the Chairman’s Club of the New York Building Congress and
the Board of Directors of the Downtown Alliance.

City’s Police Athletic League is the first and finest
civilian-run PAL in the country. Founded in 1914, PAL has
served the city’s young people for 100 years. PAL provides
recreational, educational, cultural and social activities to
40,000 boys and girls annually. It is also the city’s
largest, independent, nonprofit youth organization. For
