legendary NBA star, who is as famous off the court as he is
on,
was honored
for his superlative work with the poor and dispossessed in
West Africa. Also, FOCOS Founder and world-renowned
spine surgeon Dr. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, was
honored for his work here, but most particularly, for
returning to his Ghanian homeland where he brings the skills
and expertise of his work in the US.
Dr. Boachie-Adjei created FOCOS a non- profit organization
founded in 1998 to provide comprehensive, affordable
orthopedic care to adult and pediatric patients in
underserved communities throughout West Africa.
Isha
Sesay of CNN M.C.’s the event, was joined by other media
celebrities throughout The evening.
The Seventh Annual FOCOS
Awards Gala, featured the dancers and drummers from
Cumbe: Center for African and Diaspora Dance.
