Chinese Art and Folk Performances
Featured in Oriental Arts Exhibit
Opening Reception at the UN
The Permanent Mission of São Tomé and
Príncipe, in partnership with American Oriental Arts
Foundation and Friendship Ambassadors Foundation, presents
the Oriental Arts Exhibit, which showcases unique and
masterful art pieces from China.
The exhibit will run from April 6-10,
at the North Secretariat Lobby, UN Headquarters.
The exhibit features contemporary and
traditional artworks by brilliant Chinese artists:
Min Yuan
is a seasoned painter that uses the oil color splashing
technique in his artworks. He is also the vice provost of
the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.
Mural artist Jianqi Wang
paints stunning artworks of the Tang Dynasty using the fresco technique.
Junyi Wang
is a master artisan of Jadeite carving, which has been and continues
to be an integral part of Chinese art.
The art exhibit opened with special
performances by folk music groups and performers from China,
including the Girls Crystal Band. Among notable guests was
His Excellency Ambassador Angelo Antonio Toriello, the
Permanent Representative of São Tomé and Príncipe to the
United Nations.
Executive Producer Alice Liu of American
Oriental Arts Foundation has also announced upcoming
programs, in partnership with Friendship Ambassadors
Foundation: a series of performances at the UN General
Assembly Hall and Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on June
26 and 29, 2015, as part of the Rhythms of One World
International Choral Festival, and a major concert at the
UN, featuring performers from around the world,
on January 18, 2016.

Alice Liu and American Oriental Arts
Foundation:
Professionally trained as a ballet dancer and
instructor, Alice has been working in the Asia-U.S. arts and
cultural exchange arena for more than twenty years. Under
her leadership, the American Oriental Arts Foundation has
successfully organized the “Bridge of Friendship” arts
festival, which continues to receive positive feedback from
the public. Her foundation is in close collaboration with
the United Nations, Lincoln Center, New York Ballet Company
and etc. Each year, Alice invites hundreds of students from
China and all over the world to come to the United States.
During their stay in the U.S., young people take courses in
manners and etiquette, watch Broadway shows and visit
prestigious universities. Alice has made extraordinary
contributions to international arts education. She believes
that mutual respect and understanding is the key to cultural
exchange. She and her foundation will continue to make
contributions in the cultural dialogue between China, Asia
and the U.S.
