AMERICAN COMMITTEE SELECTED AS SILVER, BRONZE WINNER IN THE 36TH
ANNUAL TELLY AWARDS
FOR
VIDEO PRODUCTIONS
The
36th Annual
Telly Awards, one of the world’s premier honors recognizing
outstanding films, has named the American Committee for the
Weizmann Institute of Science as the winner of both Silver and
Bronze awards in 2015.
The
American Committee was awarded a Silver Telly in the category of
Online Video, Not-for-Profit, for its film “Care
Share Repair.”
The film serves as an introduction and overview to CARE SHARE
REPAIR (CSR), a digital platform that aims to create positive
change through digital social action. “Care Share Repair”
encourages others to join the movement of dedicated
people who believe in making the world a better place,
and features notable
names in sports, entertainment, and science, including former
NBA commissioner David Stern, actor and activist Matthew Modine,
and others. The
aim of the video is to promote CSR as a powerful educational
platform for use in summer camps and schools, and in religious
milestones. The video was produced by Flightpath, New York.
A
Bronze Telly was awarded to the American Committee for its film
“Celebrating
70 Years”
in the category of Film/Video Non-Broadcast Productions,
Not-for-Profit. This short historic film was produced in
celebration of the 70th anniversary
of the founding of the American Committee, and was shown at a
gathering of over 400 international Weizmann supporters in the
Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Temple of Dendur. “Celebrating 70
Years” features archival footage and photos representing seven
decades of Weizmann supporters in the U.S. The film sweeps
through the early days of the organization in the context of
global events and the magnificent partnership between science
and philanthropy. The video was produced in collaboration with
IKA Collective, New York.
The
Telly Awards, founded in 1979, represent the best work of the
most respected advertising agencies, production companies,
television stations, cable operators, and corporate video
departments in the world. This year, there were nearly 12,000
entries from all 50 states and numerous countries.
A
prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry
professionals judged the competition. Less than 10 percent of
entries are chosen as winners of the Silver Telly, the highest
honor. Approximately 25 percent of entries are chosen as winners
of the Bronze Telly.
