THE MOMS Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein with COLD-EEZE® hosted
a Mamarazzi®
Breakfast and Talk Back Event with Actresses
Toni Collette and Jacqueline
Bisset and COLD-EEZE®
CEO Ted Karkus on
Tuesday, October 27th, 2015 at Park
Avenue Screening Room. The
event, which brought together influential moms and media,
for a special advance screening of the new film, Miss
You Already, a
story of two best friends as they navigate life?s highs and
lows, until one of them is hit with devastating news that
changes everything. Guests enjoyed a selection of light
bites prepared by Chef
Mark Anthony Bailey and
gift bags courtesy of COLD-EEZE®. Additional notable
attendees at the event included Celebrity Jewelry Designer Margo
Manhattan and
the Director of Marketing for EZBZ, Inc. Kristen
Nweeia.
Immediately following the screening Collette and Bisset sat
down for a Q & A with The MOM?s Denise Albert and Melissa
Musen Gerstein, who were also joined by the movie?s Producer Christopher
Simon. The movie, which stars Drew Barrymore and Toni
Collette, is about the story of best friends Jess
(Barrymore) and Milly (Collette) who grew up together and
shared everything with each other. Then, Milly is diagnosed
with breast cancer and the diagnosis turns their world's
upside down. Bisett plays Miranda, Milly?s mom, who lends
support to her throughout her battle with cancer.
When asked about how she decided to partake in the film,
Collette said "the role chooses you and soul connects to
it," adding, "I loved that it celebrated life, despite the
tragic outcome. The ultimate message is to appreciate what
you have."
Bisset when describing the plight Milly, Collette's
character, she said that the reality of her situation was
awful." It takes so much guys to be sick like this and stay
the same," she said. For Collette, there was nothing she
would not do for this role saying, "I shaved my head. I
would've done anything for this film.? However, when she
told her two children about this role, she said, "They
didn't like it. I really freaked one of them out."
The film's producer Christopher
Simon shared
with the crowd that part of the net proceeds of the movie
will go to breast cancer charities in the U.S., U.K. and
Australia and is working to establish partnerships with
additional charities elsewhere.

Ted Karkus is
the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ProPhase
Labs. He financed and advised ID Biomedical, a
biotech/vaccine company, when it was valued at $25 million
and near bankruptcy. He successfully persuaded the board of
directors into making difficult but necessary changes to
management, including the replacement of the CEO, and helped
to redirect their strategic focus. Seven years later, the
company was sold to GlaxoSmithKline for more than $1.4
billion. While advising ID Biomedical, he began a similar
decade-long engagement with ProPhase Labs. After years of
declining revenues, increasing losses and questionable
activities, the company's direction was in dire need of
change -- and the shareholders? interests in need of
protection. He initiated a highly risky but incredibly
successful proxy contest that led to his position as CEO. As
CEO, he directly oversee corporate strategy, legal strategy,
shareholder relations and marketing/advertising (including
PR, SM/digital, TV, radio and print), as well as R&D/product
development and sales team. After inheriting a severely
declining brand, he has restructured the entire go to market
strategy for Cold-EEZE® Cold
Remedy, their flagship brand, which has led to dramatic
growth since 2010.
