On October
27, 2015, the Roslyn
S. Jaffe Awards, a not-for-profit program, honored
the Winners of $150,000 in grants recognizing individuals
who help empower women and children, at a luncheon held at
Cipriani 42nd Street. Recipients
of the 2015 Roslyn S. Jaffe Awards are Jessica
Sager & Janna Wagner, All Our Kin, Connecticut (Grand Prize
$100,000); Simone Bernstein, VolunTEEN Nation, St. Louis, MO
(Runner Up $25,000); Kelly Fair, Polished Pebbles Girls
Mentoring Program, Chicago, IL (Runner Up $25,000).
With over
650 guests, the event was emceed by Award
winning journalist Soledad O’Brien. Special

This 2nd annual
awards program honors the lifelong contributions of Roslyn
S. Jaffe, who co-founded the first dressbarn store in
Connecticut in 1962, by giving grants to everyday heroes who
are making the world a better place for women and children
especially in the areas of health, education, social reform
and self-esteem.
Mrs. Jaffe
helped transform that one dressbarn store into what is now -
the Ascena Retail Group, Inc. – the third largest US-based
specialty retailer, and the largest focused exclusively on
serving the female consumer. With its recent acquisition of
ANN INC., Ascena Retail Group now has $7.4 billion in
