FILM FESTIVAL CELEBRATES DAY TWO OF 20th ANNIVERSARY

Salma Hayek Pinault Received the Outstanding Achievement in
Cinema Award; Patrick Stewart Received the Legends of Cinema
Award; and Andrea Riseborough Received the Outstanding
Supporting Actress Award

Guests in attendance for Day 2 of the SCAD Savannah Film
Festival included Salma
Hayek Pinault (“Beatriz at Dinner”), Patrick
Stewart (“Logan”) and Andrea
Riseborough (“Battle of the Sexes”). Salma
Hayek Pinault (“Beatriz at Dinner”) was honored with the
Outstanding Achievement in Cinema Award; Patrick
Stewart (“Logan”) with the Legends of Cinema Award and Andrea
Riseborough (“Battle of the Sexes”) with the Outstanding
Supporting Actress Award. Others talented filmmakers and
actors attendance included: Dee
Rees, Jennifer Morrison, Sean Baker, and Chris Bergoch, among
others.
Earlier in the day, The Hollywood
Reporter’s Scott Feinberg hosted the annual Docs to Watch
Directors Roundtable featuring directors: Brett Morgen
("Jane"), Ceyda Torun ("Kedi"), Jeff Orlowski ("Chasing
Coral"), Greg Barker ("The Final Year"), John Ridley ("Let
It Fall"), Yance Ford ("Strong Island"), Evgeny Afineevsky
("Cries from Syria"), Bryan Fogel ("Icarus"), Amanda Lipitz
("Step") and Laura Poitras ("Risk").
WHAT:
The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) celebrates 20
years of cinematic creativity at the 2017
SCAD Savannah Film Festival.
The festival, held in downtown Savannah, Georgia, runs from
Saturday, Oct. 28, to Saturday, Nov. 4.
