The Fifth Annual Columbia Children’s
Gala, took place on Monday, May 14th,
at Jazz at Lincoln Center. |
Celebrities, supporters, Board
members, and donors gathered to celebrate the
remarkable work of Columbia
University Children’s Health – a preeminent
entity for treating children and young adults with
complex and rare diseases based
out of New York Presbyterian’s children’s hospital. Karen
Kennedy, Chair of the Children’s Board at Columbia,
began the evening by welcoming guests and announcing
$1.5 million in critical funds that were raised to
benefit Columbia’s Center for Rare Pediatric Genetic
Diseases. The Center is led by Dr. Wendy Chung, one
of the world’s foremost geneticists, who was honored
at the Gala. Co-chairs for the event were Catherine
and Timothy Furey, and Colleen and Tagar Olson. The
evening ended in a special performance by 5-time
Grammy award winner
Dianne Reeves.
