Awards Presentation Held at Annual
Luncheon Produced For the LABF by The International Radio &
Television Society Foundation
NEW YORK – November 13, 2018 – Ten distinguished
members of the media industry where honored today at the 16th
Annual Library of American Broadcasting Foundation’s GIANTS
OF BROADCASTING & ELECTRONIC ARTS awards ceremony.
The awards were presented during a luncheon
emceed by ABC News’ “Nightline” co-anchor Juju Chang with a
guest appearance by Kelly Ripa. The event was held at New York
City’s famed Gotham Hall. This event is produced annually for
the Library of American Broadcasting by the International Radio
and Television Society Foundation.
The LABF, a charity dedicated to preserving the
past, reflecting the present and informing the future, created
the Giants of Broadcasting celebration to honor the remarkable
creators, innovators, leaders, performers and journalists who
have brought the electronic arts to the prominence they occupy
in the United States and the world today, and who have set the
stage for the future.
Since the event’s inception in 2003, the LABF has
honored 220 leaders in the broadcasting industry. Proceeds from
the luncheon support the work of the Library of American
Broadcasting Foundation, which plays a vital role in growing,
preserving, and providing access to archives that represent the
most influential cultural force in the world. A portion of the
proceeds will also support the International Radio and
Television Society Foundation’s student training program and
diversity initiatives.

information resource for the radio and television industries and
the academic communities that rely upon it for depth and
