– Last night, on October 17th, Hudson River Park
held its Annual Gala at Cipriani South Street, celebrating
the near completion of Hudson River Park. Hosted by
Sandra Bernhard, the evening honored Michael R.
Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg
Philanthropies and 108th Mayor of New York,
David Chang, chef/founder of Momofuku, and Lucy Liu,
actor/director/artist. Presenting the awards were Mike
Novogratz, Aidan Quinn and Diana L. Taylor.
Additional notable attendees included Martha Stewart,
Tyler Cameron, and Nigel Barker. Jake
Shears
of Scissor Sisters’ high-energy performance captivated the
800-person audience, closing out the gala portion of the
night.
The celebratory evening featured a live auction and Hudson
River Park raised $3 MILLION during the Gala to
support the Park’s operations and public programming,
including its 550+ year-round educational, environmental,
sustainability and cultural programs.
