Martinis and dog biscuits were on the menu
on Wednesday,
June 5th at
the 2024 Bideawee Ball where playful pups and the
people who love them raised funds to rescue, treat and place
homeless dogs and cats in permanent, loving homes. Bideawee
is one of the country’s oldest animal welfare and pet
adoption organizations with locations in Manhattan and Long
Island.
The fundraising gala – open to well-behaved
dogs and their doting human parents – took place at the Ziegfeld
Ballroom in Manhattan. The Ball offered a special Canine
Lounge, sponsored by Lesure, complete with a Treat Bar,
sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, exclusively for our
four-legged guests.
For the humans on hand, the evening offered a
cocktail hour featuring a signature cocktail, sponsored
Tito’s Handmade Vodka, seated dinner, live donation appeal,
and a live auction.
This year’s Bideawee Ball honorees were Charlie
Schwartz, Portfolio Manager, Neuberger Berman and Libby
Post, Executive Director, New York State Animal
Protection Federation.
Leslie Granger, CAWA, President and CEO of
Bideawee, noted, “Today, as we are surrounded by our devoted
supporters and their four-legged family members, I’d like to
thank our honorees Charlie and Libby for their commitment to
Bideawee and the animals in our care. Everyone here today
has played a role in advocating for vulnerable and voiceless
animals in need. From volunteering to walk the dogs in our
shelters, to raising much-needed funds, to backing critical
legislation, everyone here has made the lives of the animals
we care for better. While I thank you tremendously, I also
urge you to continue your efforts. The lives of so many
sweet and deserving dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies depend
on it.”
