EMERGENCY
REHABILITATION
OF SOLDIERS
UPDATE:
DR. FELIX
BENNINGER
|
|
|
Dr. Felix Benninger, Deputy Director of the Department of Neurology, describes NEW REHABILITATION CLINIC FOR WOUNDED SOLDIERS at Rabin Medical Center
|
Dr.
Felix
Benninger
reports
over 854
war
casualties
brought
to the
hospital
in
recent
months,
with
over 336
emergency
surgeries.
Of those
casualties,
more
than 220
wounded
were
brought
to the
hospital
for
emergency
care
by 100+
helicopter
transports.
Early on
the
hospital
realized
that it
required
a
dedicated
Rehabilitation
Department
specifically
for
wounded
soldiers.
Working
quickly,
the
Rehabilitation
Center
was
built
and
fitted,
admitting
its
first
patient
on
November
7, just
one
month
after
the
October
7
atrocities.
The
Rehabilitation
Department
currently
has 14
inpatient
beds
which is
simply
not
enough
to cover
the
incoming
wounded
in need
of
rehabilitation.
There is
a
planned
expansion
to 36
inpatient
beds as
soon as
funding
is
available.
25 days
is the
average
admission
length
of a
recovering
soldier,
and
anticipated program
expansions
include Hydrotherapy
& Out
Patient
Hospital
Service.

RABIN'S EILAT HOSPITAL
ANNEX NEEDS MEDICAL EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES TO TREAT THE
70,000 DISPLACED ISRAELIS WITH QUALITY HEALTHCARE.
PLEASE DONATE TO RABIN
MEDICAL CENTER'S EMERGENCY MEDICAL FUND:
HELP SUPPLY RABIN'S ER/TRAUMA & EMERGENCY UNDERGROUND
HOSPITAL
WITH CRITICAL MEDICAL SUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT
You can save hundreds of
lives in Israel by helping the hospital purchase
critical medical equipment necessary to treat the
countless casualties arriving daily at the ER/Trauma
Center
In order to avoid
incoming missile attacks, 70,000 Israelis from borders
around the country have had to relocate to safety to
Eilat. Rabin Medical Center immediately responded to the
need by opening several clinics around Eilat for
emergency medical services and treatments. Medical
Staff are working 24/7 to treat these incoming displaced
patients with the utmost care and attention. Medical
supplies are running low - we need YOUR HELP NOW.
American Friends of Rabin
Medical Center (AFRMC) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit
charitable organization that was established in 1995.
Through a variety of programs and fundraisers across the
United States, AFRMC funds charitable, educational and
scientific purposes at Rabin Medical Center. Rabin
Medical Center, named after former Prime Minister
Yitzhak Rabin, is the pride of Israel, serving the needs
of one million patients annually without regard to
ethnicity, nationality or religion.
