At the 20th anniversary of the Manhattan
Power List celebration,
Wally Sedgewick, Vice President
of Analytics and Strategic Planning at
BroadwayHD, was recognized as one
of Manhattan’s most influential leaders.
The annual event honors figures
significantly impacting the borough
through innovation, leadership, and
service.
Sedgewick has played a
transformative role in bringing Broadway
to global audiences through BroadwayHD,
the streaming platform founded in 2015
by Tony Award winners Stewart F. Lane
and
Bonnie Comley. Under his leadership,
the platform’s subscriber base has grown
tenfold in seven years, successfully
transitioning to a full subscription
model and solidifying its place in the
competitive digital entertainment
landscape.
He has also led content acquisition
efforts that have expanded BroadwayHD’s
offerings to include acclaimed
productions like
Romeo & Juliet with Orlando Bloom
and Mr. Saturday Night
starring
Billy Crystal. His strategic
vision has made top-tier theater more
accessible than ever before.
An MBA graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill,
Sedgewick brings a background in
analytics and product development from
major firms, including Microsoft and
Bank of America. His unique blend of
technical expertise and passion for
storytelling has made him a powerful
advocate for preserving the magic of
live performance in the digital age.
Thanks to his efforts, BroadwayHD
continues to redefine how audiences
experience theater—anytime,
anywhere—while supporting the industry
during pivotal times, including the
pandemic. Sedgewick’s work
perfectly embodies the Manhattan Power
List’s mission: to spotlight those
shaping the future of New York’s
cultural landscape. |
