PROMISE FUND’S ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC FORUM
LUNCHEON HIGHLIGHTS LIFESAVING
INNOVATIONS IN CANCER CARE
Promise Fund, in partnership with its
exclusive healthcare partner, Baptist
Health Cancer Care, hosted its Annual
Scientific Forum Luncheon at The Beach
Club in Palm Beach, bringing together
nearly
80 guests, including board members,
supporters, community leaders, and
medical experts.
The event highlighted groundbreaking
advancements in cancer detection and
treatment, emphasizing the critical need
for early detection, patient navigation,
and expanded access to life-saving
screenings and care for underserved
women.
Ambassador Nancy Brinker, co-founder of
the Promise Fund, emphasized the
organization's unwavering mission to
break down barriers to care, ensuring
that no woman is left behind due to
financial or logistical obstacles.
The forum featured a panel of Baptist
Health medical experts, including Dr.
Kathy Schilling, Dr. Jane Mendez, and
Dr. John Diaz, who provided invaluable
insights into the latest advancements in
breast and gynecologic cancer care.
Topics ranged from artificial
intelligence in breast imaging to
tailored treatment approaches and
fertility-preserving surgical
innovations.
Dr. Michael Zinner, CEO and Executive
Medical Director of Miami Cancer
Institute and Baptist Health Cancer
Care, highlighted the impact of
partnerships in enhancing survivorship
and announced the upcoming Al and Jane
Nahmad Women’s Cancer Center, a new
state-of-the-art facility dedicated to
comprehensive women’s cancer care.
Guests were also introduced to Audrey
Brown, the recently appointed CEO of the
Promise Fund, who shared her vision for
scaling the organization’s successful
model to reach more communities in need.
A moving patient story showcased the
tangible impact of the Promise Fund’s
patient navigation program, reinforcing
the importance of continued support and
investment in women’s health
initiatives.
The luncheon concluded with a dynamic
Q&A session, allowing guests to engage
directly with experts driving
advancements in cancer care across South
Florida and beyond. The forum also
served as a call to action to support
the Promise Fund’s mission by
volunteering, donating, and advocating
for increased healthcare access.
