Heroes for Freedom
Foundation Empowers Veterans
with
Holiday Assistance
The Heroes for Freedom Foundation, a
Houston-based nonprofit dedicated to
supporting military veterans, is making
a meaningful impact this holiday season
with its annual Christmas check
presentation event. This year’s
gathering was held in honor of John
Angelina, whose leadership and
service greatly shaped the foundation’s
mission.
The event took place in
partnership with the Wounded Warrior
Project: with a Presentation
at 11:00 a.m. , a video tribute from
Roger Clemens and check presentation.
This year, the foundation
distributed $11,000 in Christmas
checks to 10 veterans in
need—offering critical financial relief
and holiday support to those who have
sacrificed so much for our nation.
The foundation focuses on
veterans facing physical or emotional
challenges after their service. To date,
it has donated more than $160,000
to veterans’ causes and organizes unique
experiences such as duck hunts, fishing
tournaments, and golf events that help
veterans reconnect with their community
and experience renewed camaraderie.
“Many veterans face
challenges that are invisible to the
public, and it’s our mission to give
them the support they deserve,” said
Fern Davis, Heros for Freedom Foundation
Board Member. “This holiday season, we
are thrilled to help veterans in need
with both financial assistance and a
reminder that they’re not forgotten.”
This year’s holiday
initiative supported 12 local veteran
recipients and their military families,
helping them enjoy a brighter and more
secure holiday season.
“The pandemic has made
the challenges even harder for many of
our warriors; the stories and the
struggles are incredibly real,” Davis
added. “We are committed to helping them
in ways they might not be able
to help themselves.”
Beyond financial
assistance, Heroes for Freedom is
dedicated to raising awareness of
veterans’ needs and inspiring community
involvement.
“It is not just about
financial assistance,” said Davis. “It
is about showing our veterans that their
sacrifice is appreciated and that we are
here for them every step of the way.”
