1. Highlighting Family Business
Contributions to SDGs:
Present data and case studies
demonstrating how family businesses
contribute to various SDGs, including
economic growth, poverty
alleviation, and environmental
sustainability.
Showcase innovative practices and
strategies employed by family
businesses to integrate sustainability
into their core operations.
2. Fostering Collaboration and Knowledge
Sharing:
Facilitate a platform for family
businesses, policymakers, and experts to
share best practices, challenges, and
opportunities for collaboration.
Promote networking opportunities among
participants to foster long-term
partnerships and initiatives aimed at
advancing the SDGs.
3. Policy Advocacy and Recommendations:
Engage policymakers in a dialogue on the
need for supportive policies and
frameworks that encourage family
businesses to
pursue sustainable practices.
Develop and present a set of
recommendations to governments,
international organizations, and private
sector stakeholders to enhance the
enabling environment for family
businesses to contribute
to the SDGs.
4. Promoting the Second World Summit for
Social Development:
Raise awareness about the Second World
Summit for Social
Development (to be held in Qatar in
November 2025) and encourage
participation from family businesses.
Expected Outcomes:
1. Enhanced understanding and
recognition of the contributions of
family businesses to the SDGs.
2. Strengthened collaboration and
partnerships among family
businesses,policymakers, and other
stakeholders.
3. A set of concrete recommendations for
policymakers to support family
businesses in their pursuit of
sustainable development.
4. Increased awareness and engagement in
the Second World Summit for Social
Development among family business
representatives.

The 63rd session of the Commission for Social Development
(CSocD63) will take place from
10 to 14 February 2025
at the
United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The 2nd World Summit for Social
Development
will be held in the
Stateof Qatar from 4 to 6 November 2025.

According to the statistic from Family
Business Network, Family
Businesses contribute over 70% of the
global GDP, employ 60% global worker,
represent 2/3 of all global businesses.
A hugely significant economic force .
We organized the 1st Family Business for
SDGs Forum
as a side event ofCSocD62.
We invited the representatives from
family business and
experts for studying the family
development to discuss the influence of
family business for SDGs.
The side event ‘Contribution of Family
Business to Social
Development and SDGs’ will continue to
seek to recognizing the
significant contribution of family
businesses to global GDP, employment,and
the overall economy, this side event
aims to emphasize their role as key
drivers of sustainable development.
The objective of this side event is to
showcase the pivotal role of family
businesses in accelerating the
achievement of the Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs) by leveraging
their unique attributes, such as
long-term orientation, strong community
ties, and commitment to generational
continuity.
This event aims to foster greater
collaboration
between family businesses, policymakers,
and other stakeholders to
harness the full potential of family
enterprises in advancing social
development and inclusive growth.
The Family Business for Social
Development Contribution Award
is set to launch globally. |
