at the Explorers Club

The Irish Business Organization of
New York (IBO)
had their first event of 2025 at the
famous
Explorer Club Headquarters in New York City.
That night was very cold. But I when I
got there I was met by the smiling face
of the IBO Director of Operations
Colleen B Conway. So things start to
warm up and after I got there for a
while i finally warmed up.
A lot of people where already there,
networking and greeting each other. I
was a little bit late because my
meetings went longer.
But it was still a great networking.
I have been attending the events of the
IBO for more than 20 years,
But I only go when I can get away.
The Irish are the nicest and friendliest
people
that is why I attend their events when I
can. |

I also enjoy visiting Ireland, both
Dublin and Belfast and around I have a
good friend there name Tina Olahan. And
if I am by Belfast side I stay at the
Castle Leslie. The Leslie are related to
Princess Diana and the former Prime
Minister Winston Churchill. The
Prime Minister mother was an American
heiress from New York City. And also one
of the grandmother of Princess Diana is
another American Heiress.
So they have a lot of good connection in
the US.
Anyway this night is also the night that
the new officers of IBO for 2025 was
sworn in and introduced to the guests.
It was a great line up.
The President is Janet L. Walsh,
D.B.A.,
CEO and President of Birchtree Global, LLC,
which specializes in globalizing
business, HR strategy, operations, and
workforce integration. She has
established operations in 86 countries
and all 50 U.S. states, leading
cross-functional teams
of legal, financial tax, and HR experts.
The First Vice President is Karen
Colligan
Founder of PeopleThink in 2000 and the name says it all.
She has never wavered in her belief that
people can do more and be more if they
choose to. As a corporate leader,
consultant, facilitator, and executive
coach, she has helped organizations
develop and retain their
most precious asset: their PEOPLE.
Second Vice President is Loretta
Bricchi Lee,
Loretta Bricchi Lee studied Law in Pavia,
Italy - at one of the oldest
universities in the world - but followed
her dream to become a journalist for
Italian national newspapers and
magazines.
Her love for home design brought her to
be an interior decorator and
subsequently an Associate Real Estate
Broker for Compass.
Membership is Niamh Drury,
Niamh Drury is originally from Dublin and moved to New York in 2019. She
currently works as in-house counsel for
Amplify Education, Inc.,
which is a leading provider of K-12
curriculum and assessment materials,
serving teachers and students across the
United States.
Communication is Patrick Sheldon
a life-long journalist and investor in historic real estate.
As communications director for the IBO,
he plans to emphasize the contributions
of Irish and Irish American business as
well as the traditional connection
between Irish Arts & Business.
The Director of operations is Colleen
Berry Conway.
a very friendly lady, Colleen Berry Conway is an entrepreneur, artist and
freelancer. She is the co-owner and
primary artist of Ogham Art, a specialty
gift business launched in 2010 featuring
Ogham - the first written form of the
Irish language. With a Bachelor of Arts
in English, she founded Ogham Art with
her husband Chris after a 17-year
managerial career with Barnes & Noble
Booksellers.
The Explorer Club is a very interesting
Place to see.
The Explorers Club is a
multidisciplinary society dedicated to
the advancement of field research,
scientific exploration and resource
conservation. The Flags that was first
in stick in the North Poole in 1909 and
on the South Poole in 1911 Everest in
1953, The Challenger Deep 1960 and on
the Moon 1969. Their members are always
the first to get to this important
places. This flags are place inside a
display case and it is hanging on the
walls of the Explorer Club.
The Explorer Club is by membership only.
They have a great line up of members
from President Teddy Roosevelt, Jeff
Beso of Amazon, Astronauts Neil Amstrong
& John Glenn, Jane Goodall, and many
more famous people. They have a weekly
seminars and some Exploration.
You can visit the place during week days and get tickets it is a 6th floor
building. You will see the animals that
they caught in there explorations and
other materials that they used in there
exploration. In fact Louis and Clark
have items there from there explorations
when America was just starting. Make
sure to go to this Explorer Club
to discover new things.
It is very very interesting.

it is a good organization to join as a
member .

By the way the IBO marches in the
St. Patrick's Day Parade every year.
