The UN Commission on the Status of Women
(UN CSW) is an annual conference held
every March in New York, providing a
platform for countries worldwide to
exchange insights, evaluate progress,
and propose recommendations on women’s
rights. This parallel forum follows the
success of the 2024 Geneva First World
Autism Public Welfare and Charity Forum
and will focus on women’s empowerment,
eliminating gender discrimination, and
promoting equal rights for Asian women
worldwide in various fields, including
politics, economy, culture, technology,
education, and social sectors. The forum
will also highlight the critical role of
women in supporting families with
autistic children and advocate for
greater societal awareness and policy
support.
Through this forum and art exhibition,
WAAW and its partners aim to raise
awareness, foster inclusivity, and
create impactful change for women and

Love and hope, walking with the masters
--A special exhibition of caring for
autistic children
Preface Listen to the color of
silence, touch the light of the soul
Art is the most sincere expression
of the human soul, and for autistic
children, art is a bridge to the
world and a way for them to
establish connections beyond
language. Autistic children are
called "star children" because there
seems to be a subtle gap between
their way of thinking, emotional
experience, and the rhythm of the
world. However, in their paintings,
this gap is broken, and we can get a
glimpse of their unique and pure
inner world. This exhibition is not
just an artistic presentation, it is
also a profound exploration of human
cognition, emotion, and
communication. In these works, we
see not only the composition of
shape and color, but also the
individual's understanding and
reshaping of the world—some
paintings are colorful and full of
jumping vitality, as if the children
are cheering and celebrating in
their own way; some works are full
of a sense of order, showing their
fascination with structure and
repetition; and some pictures seem
to transcend reality, revealing
their unique experience of time and
space, emotion, and the essence of
the world.
The artistic creations of autistic
children remind us that the way
people communicate with each other
is not limited to language and
words. Every heart has its own
unique frequency and expression. As
Paul Klee, a great artist in the
20th century, once said: "Art is not
about reproducing visible things,
but about making invisible things
visible." These children's works
allow us to see their unique
perception of the world and also
prompt us to reflect: How much
beauty and wisdom are there outside
the so-called "mainstream" that we
have not noticed?
Today, we stand in front of these
works, not only appreciating but
also listening. In these paintings,
we can see the voices of the
children, the safe place they have
built between colors and lines, and
their desire to seek understanding
and resonance in free expression.
Each work is a silent dialogue,
reminding us that we need to accept,
understand, and support them with a
more open mind.
This exhibition is not only a
celebration of art, but also a
reflection of society's attention
and tolerance for autistic children.
Art should not be limited. Every
child's creativity deserves respect,
and every expression should be
listened to and cherished. May this
exhibition become a window, allowing
more people to see the unique light
of the “Star Children"; may art
become a bridge, connecting the
world more closely with their hearts
