LARGEST “SALUTE THE HEROES” FISHING
TOURNAMENT TO DATE
More Than 84 Veterans and Warriors
Honored
on the Waters of Galveston
The Heroes for Freedom Foundation
proudly hosted its 15th Annual “Salute
the Heroes” Fishing Tournament, at
Waterman’s Marina in Galveston, Texas,
bringing together veterans, active-duty
service members, volunteers, sponsors,
and community supporters for an
unforgettable day honoring America’s
heroes.
This year marked the largest tournament
in the organization’s history, with more
than 28 boats and individual guides
taking over 84 warriors onto the waters
of Galveston for a day filled with
camaraderie, healing, appreciation, and
competitive fishing.
“We are incredibly grateful to our
captains, sponsors, volunteers, and
supporters who made this year’s
tournament such a tremendous success,”
said Fern Davis lCo-Founder of the
Foundation. “Seeing more than 84
veterans and service members enjoying
fellowship and time on the water reminds
us exactly why this event matters.”
The tournament began at sunrise,
followed by an afternoon weigh-in
celebration featuring lunch, raffles,
prizes, and fellowship among
participants and supporters. Veterans
from across Texas gathered to enjoy a
meaningful experience designed to
recognize their service and sacrifices
while fostering lasting connections
within the military community. This
year’s event raised over $115,000
And the heaviest stringer consisted of 2
Redfish and 3 Trout
weighed in at 15.53 pounds by Team

Hosted annually by the Heroes for
Freedom Foundation, the event continues
to grow in both participation and
impact, helping provide enriching
outdoor experiences and support
opportunities for veterans, active-duty
military personnel, and their families.
