I found myself very pleased to visit
with Eric Smith of Redwood Media
and his lovely wife. Redwood Media is
the company who puts on all the ARTEXPOs
nationwide from New York to Miami, San
Diego to Chicago and other cities.
Redwood Media has a website where
Collectors and Interior Designers look
for high caliber artworks for when they
find and need them. Many visitors just
like me who go to the ARTEXPO to see the
latest art available and to discuss
directly with the artists their history,
ideas and intentions.
It was pleasant to see the smiling face
of Ellliot Stares at Registration
who was in charge of signing in the
PRESS. He is the P.R. for Redwood Media,
originally from London now living in
Miami with 24 years of experience in
global brand communications. Elliot
founded his company Elliott Stares
Public Relations LLC (ESPR LLC) 24 years
ago in London specializing in sports
branding working between London and the
US.
He provided PR for many brands such as
Aston Martin, Dance Star USA (music
awards), Sony Ericsson (tennis), FIFA
(beach soccer), Adidas (NEO/Selena Gomez
Collection), NFL/Miami Dolphins
(Celebrity Ownership) and Rolex (Golf
and Equestrian) and many more categories
of brandings. If you need excellent
branding make sure to contact ESPR LLC.
Elliot truly knows his business and will
provide you
with the best branding possible.
In addition, to visiting the world's
largest Fine Arts Trade Show with more
than 15,000 visitors which include art
enthusiasts and industry leaders return
highlighting established and independent
emerging artists.

I interviewed Maita Acevado for a
while & asked her, what gave her the
idea of making a wooden sculpture on a
frame? She explained the idea came from
when she had seen this beautiful world
map (a wooden sculpture in itself) made
on a wooden frame. At that time Maita
had wanted to purchase it for her
father's birthday appropriate for
someone who is a Merchant Marine.
Unfortunately it was to pricey so she
decided to make it herself and it came
out very nice. Her father loved it so
much, she decided to pursue this type of
sculpture as her career. Besides her art
she models when she is not creating.
Artist Michal Perry is an
American- Israeli Poet born in Jerusalem
and graduated from Avri Institute of
Fine Arts. His art has been exhibited in
the US, Israel and Europe. Michal makes
large of still life's such as beautiful
trees on oil.
I have an interest in the artwork of
Valerilii Popova originally from
Ukraine who creates from old TV shows
currently painting Homer of the Simpsons.
Valerilii came to the US as a
professional swimmer for the Ukrainian
National University and then Florida
International University. As a child she
loved coloring books, and when she was 8
years old her mother enrolled her in art
school.
I like her artwork she paints different
TV characters such as a favorite of mine
of Homer on Wall Street, and other
various scenes such as one of Homer
having dinner in a restaurant, Homer
taking a bath, etc... Valerilii paints
several cartoon characters and accepts
special requests/orders.
I met with Christopher Diamond of
Diamond Lotus has unique and different
subject matter in his art. They are
beautiful, fresh and new look of
luminous glass. An infused blending of
colored mineral pigments, pearlescent
hand blown glass products. Christopher's
signature artworks, the looks are of 1
carat diamonds to elevate a room through
light and harmony both modern and
transcends which he applies to the
canvas. They are incredibly beautiful.
Then a group of artists from Manilla - I
had the opportunity to meet Daniel
Dumaguitl, Carlos Belirdezo Rico Sunzo,
Doodz Iligan
and Ludvine Dersigny
had their artworks displayed at the
ARTEXPO in New York. All are beautiful
paintings. I was even given a silk
scarves with the Paintings of one of
this filipina artist. It is beautiful I
am happy to have them.
Another artist I met was Michael
Storrings who creates Art about New
York. He designs book pockets for the
New York Times and received many awards
due to his excellent works.
Until next time...this is Gloria
Cressler signing off. We will see you
next year at the next ARTEXPO New York!
Please put it in your calendar: Do not
forget your tickets next year - get them
early beginning of April.
NOTE: A suggestion is to not call a
painting a picture. A painting in any
media hand stroked with pigment on
materials is a painting. Unless you are
taking a photo (which is then considered
a picture).
