On
Monday August 8th ,2016 Former NBA basketball star and
recently signed Hapoel Jerusalem player and part owner
Amar’e Stoudemire held a basketball peace camp with Israel’s
local basketball team, Hapoel Jerusalem. Amar'e Stoudemire
was joined by NBA Stars Rudy Gay, Omri Casspi and Chris
Copland and WNBA stars Mistie Bass and Alysha Clark. This
camp was the vision of Amar'e to promote peace and unity
amongst all people of Israel this is why he included
Ethiopian, Israelites from Dimona, and Arab Israeli
children. The camp was held to fight global terrorism and
unite children for peace in the middle east. During the camp
Amar’e conducted interviews with local media and held
a press conference to spread the message of peace he is
striving for through various efforts, such as this
basketball peace camp.

ABOUT AMAR’E
STOUDEMIRE
At
the age of 14, Amar’e began to play organized basketball,
which changed his life forever. Despite playing only two
years of high school basketball, Stoudemire earned many
awards, including the USA Today All-USA Basketball First
Team, Florida’s Mr. Basketball, Orlando Sentinel Florida
High School Player of the Year and was invited to play in
the McDonald’s All-America Game. His phenomenal skills
earned him interest from colleges around the country, but
with his star on the rise, Stoudemire entered his name in
the 2002 NBA draft. He didn’t take long to become one of the
NBA’s top players.
Stoudemire is now part owner and player for Hapoel Jerusalem
Basketball Club. His TV & film credits include Entourage,
Law & Order: SVU, and The Exes, and summer 2015 hit film
Trainwreck. He is also an author and producer of films and
can be regularly seen attending fashion weeks around the
globe as a fixture in the fashion world.
